Delete your account

Last updated 2026-08-08. You can delete your WorkMayt account yourself, from inside the app or from the web. This page explains how, and tells you precisely what disappears and what doesn't.

How to delete it

In the mobile app — open Settings → Delete account, then confirm.
On the web — sign in at the WorkMayt web app, then go to Settings → Delete account.
Can't sign in? Email privacy@workmayt.com from the address on the account and we'll verify you and do it for you.

Deletion takes effect immediately. It cannot be undone, and it signs you out everywhere.

What is permanently erased

These are destroyed outright — not hidden, not archived:

your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address;
your emergency contact and any personal notes an administrator recorded about you;
your pay rate and your skill tags;
your profile photo;
your password, and every active login session;
your push-notification tokens and pending in-app notifications;
any outstanding invitations to you, and any linked sign-in identities;
your login history.

What your employer keeps — and why

The record that the work happened stays: time entries, their task segments, breaks, timesheet approvals, completed work blocks, and the audit trail. Your identity is stripped out of them. Afterwards those records show "Deleted User", and there is no route from them back to you.

Why it works this way. Your employer is legally required to keep records of hours worked and wages paid. Those records are attached to your account, so erasing the account outright would delete your employer's payroll history along with your name — which is the opposite of what privacy law intends. So we erase the person and keep the de-identified record.

If you own or administer an organization

Owners can't delete their own account while they own an organization. Transfer ownership to someone else first, or delete the organization. This stops a company account being orphaned with nobody able to reach its data.
The last administrator can't delete their account either, for the same reason — promote another admin first.
If you're on the clock when you delete, the open shift is closed off automatically so it doesn't run forever.

Deleting a whole organization

To close an entire company account and everything in it, email privacy@workmayt.com from the owner's address. Export anything you want to keep first — once it's gone, it's gone.
